October marks baby loss awareness week, and with this in mind Octavia's Trust has decided to do a sponsored knitathon to raise funds so we can keep providing bursaries to deserving postgraduate students conducting research into the causes of stillbirth.
Not only do we hope to raise funds for bursaries but we intend to knit lots of lovely items, such as hats or comfort squares, that can be donated to neonatal wards. So whether we raise one pound or a thousand pounds the knitathon will still have provided practical help to babies in need.
We think it could be quite fun as people could get together in groups and it is something that virtually anyone can do regardless of age or fitness unlike a sporting event and they can do it anywhere in the world.
There are three main ways you can support us.
Firstly by sponsoring us for the knitathonvia our fundraising page which can be found here.
Or alternatively by doing your own sponsored knitathon to help us raise funds.
Finally, we really appreciate all help and support we receive so even just letting your friends and family know about our event or liking our facebook page would be great.
If you would like any more information, or would like to help us then please get in contact via firstname.lastname@example.org or via our website.
